We are currenlty in the planning process for our Year 3 camp to 'Camp Kookaburro'. We encourage all students to attend this camp as is supports curriculum delivery and provides important social and emotional development opportunities for students that is often not available in the classroom. During the three days, student develop indepdence and resilience, build on their social skills, strengthening established relationships and develope new ones.

Camp Kookaburra is a school camp set in 60 hectares of rural bushland near Corop, Central Victoria offering a range of differernt group activities under the guidance of experienced physical and outdoor education instructors. Attention to safety procedures is given top priority in the supervision of all adventure activities, the group's leaders or teachers are always provided with preliminary instructions.


Activities include:
  • Canoeing
  • Indoor and outdoor climbing walls
  • abseiling on 6.5 meter high tower
  • Archery 
  • Orienteering
  • Low Ropes course
  • Flying Fox
  • Raft building 
  • Campfire - bush cooking
  • Tennis
  • Volleyball
  • Large Ga Ga pit
  • Frisbee Gold
  • Farm animals for the students to visit
  • Games room - Pool table Foosball & Table Tennis table.


Environmental programs
include hands-on expoloration of issues such as salinity, water table degradation and erosion with tree planting being a popular activity.


Students arrive at school by 9:30am (normal school drop off time is fine is required)
Depart 10am Wednesday 18th October 
Camp Kookaburra is expecting us at 11am

Leave Camp Kookaburra 1:30pm Friday 20th October
Arrive back at school for 2:30pm pick up.

Here is a list of what you NEED to pack for Camp Kookaburra. Remember, you will be responsible for your belongings. All items MUST be clearly labelled.

SLEEPING:
  •  Pillow in a pillow case
  • Sleeping bag
  • Flat Sheet
  • Pyjamas


PERSONAL ITEMS:
  • Towel and face washer
  • Brush and comb 
  • Shampoo and conditioner 
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste 
  • Soap
  • Hair tie (hair must be tied up for all activites)
  • Thongs for shower


CLOTHING:
  • Broad brimmed hat
  • 4 T-shirts
  • 3 pairs of shorts
  • 2 pairs of pants/raincoat
  • 2 jumpers
  • 4 pairs of socks
  • 4 pairs of underware
  • 1 waterprood coat/raincoat
  • 2 pairs of shoes (with at least one being sneakers)


OTHER:
  • 2 plastic bags for wet and/or dirty clothes
  • Novel/book
  • Water bottle 
  • Torch (for room)
  • Camera (no iPads, iPods or iPhones)
